By:milocamilo12 i agree that it should be played by an orchestra not the piano but you have to admit it, it stills sounds good.
By:taoswriter Pictures was never performed as we know it in Mussorgsky's lifetime - never by an orchestra. It was a piano tribute to his dear friend Viktor Hartmann, an artist who died at 39. Music is like poetry. While others may interpret it, and often in unique and beautiful ways as Ravel did with "Pictures", how it is "meant" to be is how the creator- artist perceived it because it ultimately belongs to the creator.
By:mytralala1 On a more serious note, this is probably my favorite classical piece. I definitely prefer the piano version over the orchestra, but hey, that's just my opinion. I truly wish I hadn't given up on piano so quickly when I was a kid.

This pianist is excellent and plays an outstanding intrepretation of Pictures! Bravissimo!!!!! Long live the acoustic piano and orchestra!!
